About Invisalign®
Invisalign treatment can be used to treat a variety of dental issues, including crowded or crooked teeth, gaps between teeth, overbites, underbites, and crossbites.
Compared to traditional metal braces, Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible and can be removed for eating and cleaning, making them a popular choice for adults who want to improve their dental alignment without the visible appearance of metal braces.
Specialist Invisalign treatments consider function as well as the appearance. All treatments are planned with this in mind. Treatments can range from simple movements coupled with whitening and Aesthetic bonding to movement of teeth to facilitate full mouth rehabilitation.

Invisalign® FAQs
Invisalign® is a series of clear, comfortable, removable, hygiene friendly, plastic aligner. They fit around the teeth extremely closely, so they are almost invisible from a short distance.
A digital scan of the teeth is taken, and the movement plan is carried out by the orthodontist. A series of aligners are fabricated according to the movements required
Yes, there are small white filling attachments glued to the teeth to help them move in the desired direction. These are called attachments.
Instead of extracting teeth a procedure called IPR is carried out. This stands for ‘Inter Proximal Reduction’. A maximum of 0.25mm is polished away from the enamel on the sides of the teeth to create very small gaps. This allows the teeth enough space to be straightened.
Adult Treatments usually range from 12-18 months. In severe cases it can be longer.
If the aligners are not worn as directed, the teeth will not move as fast and the treatment will be unsuccessful
The brace is worn all the time and only removed for eating.
Aligners are changed every 5-7 days. All the aligners are given at the start of treatment.
- We are available to talk to on the phone, via email and in person.
- We will see you every 10-12 weeks for their regular appointments.
- We use a system called remote care. At the start of treatment, you are given a tube that fits onto your phone camera. At the end of each week, you scan your teeth and this scan is uploaded onto an app.
The app is monitored by us daily and you will be given the green light to change to the next aligner as simple as possible.
